We offer a variety of plains game species (see
Concessions) as well as the Big 5. Shots vary from 30 to 200 yards.
A caliber of .270 is the minimum for plains game. Larger animals (Eland, giraffes and Sable) the .375 or 9.3 mm
works best with a good construction soft nose bullet.
For the big six the minimum caliber (by law in some countries) is the .375.
On the thick-skinned animals (Elephant, Rhino, Hippo and Buffalo) the use
of solid bullets are a must. This is for both your and our safety.
The ammo you use may not be readily available in Africa,
please bring enough for your whole Safari.
Wing shooting is mainly done with 12 Gauge shotguns.
Obtaining 16 Gauge and 20 Gauge ammo may be a problem in Africa.
The golden rule of choosing a rifle is one that you are familiar with
and the rifle which recoil you can handle. This is more important that how big the calibre.
